Frome Town Women end a successful season with a defeat in the battle for 2nd place against AEK Boco, in a close, physical contest.
Frome Town started the brighter with Peet beating the defender and creating a half chance which the goalie saved.
After 14 minutes Hill went off with a worrying looking injury which we hope isn't too serious with Whisstock coming on.
Just after quarter of an hour mark the link up play between Thorner-Atkinson, Peet and Minty ended up in a effort from Minty being saved.
Frome were trying to find a way through with midfield of Starr and Underhill trying to find ways to link up through balls to Thorner-Atkinson and Peet through a stubborn Boco defence.
Boco started to up the pressure with the defence of Didymus, Edwards and Perkins and also Ratcliffe who was introduced at half time to make a back 4 all putting in blocks and great tackles throughout from Boco attempts at goal.
On the 25 minute mark Frome were getting half chances with The returning Minty impressing in advanced midfield role with Underhill and Starr in a midfield triangle.
Petteford was introduced In midfield to replace Minty who picked up a knock and entered the midfield triangle with Starr and Underhill.
Frome decided to introduce Ratcliffe at half time for Whisstock as Frome went to a back 4.
Boco came out 2nd half with renewed energy and battled hard with shots being saved by the ever impressive Restorick and with an effort cleared of the line by Player of the Match Edwards.
As full time was looming Boco tried an attempt from range which resulted in beating Restorick who did everything to try and get to it but unfortunately the ball ended up in the back of the net.
Tom Bond Frome Town assistant Manager said "The fight, desire and commitment of the girls today really summed up how far we have come this season. Injuries throughout an already depleted squad made matters difficult and I think it's an experience we can all learn from. Thank you to all the fans who travelled today and for the support all season. Sadly second place just wasn't to be on a day where very little went our way."
