Frome Town are pleased to announce the signing of Callum Gould from Shepton Mallet.
The "all-action" midfielder who was unanimously voted the Mallets' Player of the Year last season was described as 'a monster of a player' and the best in the Western League by his manager, Aaron Seviour.
Callum joined 'The Mallet' from Clevedon Town and has since gone on to make over 100 appearances, driving them to a Les Phillips Cup triumph last season.
Callum had this to say following his first training session with his new teammates at Frome: "I am very happy to be signing for the Robins and I am looking forward to testing myself at a higher level and helping the team push up the table."
Danny Greaves spoke warmly of his newest acquisition: "I'm delighted to bring Callum into the club. He is a player we have tracked for over a year and he has continued to grow as a player at Step 5. We believe now is the right time for him to step up to the Southern Prem. We saw first-hand and up-close what he was about in pre-season. An all-action midfielder who leaves everything on the pitch, Callum will put his foot in and can chip in with a goal or two. He is a young lad with ambition and a desire to work hard and improve as a player and I think this is the right place for him to achieve that."
We would like to thank Shepton Mallet and their manager Aaron Seviour for their help in getting this transfer done and we wish them all the best for the rest of their season.

Saturday will be our first home game in 5 weeks so we need a big turn out to boost the club's coffers.
Not only does it give us a chance to welcome Courtney to our club but also to see a bit of Callum. Stepping up two levels from the western league is quite a jump , so it's likely to take Callum a while to show his best form. A few of our lads from last season in Division One have struggled to find their best form and for others it's taken a while. Only a few have excelled.
