Chairman's Message: November 2021

The new month sees our chairman Derek Graham provide an update from our board to keep all of our supporters and partners, helping you keep up to date with the clubs progress. Please get in contact if you have any comments or suggestions.

Another cup run?

I hope you have all recovered from the victory over Poole Town on Saturday. What a great afternoon, tinged only with the sadness of saying goodbye to Tony Price. We know he was watching from the end of the rainbow, and what a great game he saw. With the potential goal of the season from Rex Mannings, a not-so-controversial disallowed goal for Poole following the video highlights, plus a really good goalkeeping performance by James Carey and last but not least fantastic support from you all. The draw for the next round has just been made and it's sees us up against AFC Totton. As now we're challenging them in the Trophy as well as the league.

On the up!

Let's look at some fantastic things to shout about! One...we have the highest average attendance in our league and 12th highest across all the Southern League Divisions. Two... we've won all 9 home games this season, as Danny continues to make Badger's Hill a fortress. We're keen to make sure both records stay in tact at tomorrow's home game against Barnstaple.

Get your tickets for tomorrow online now

Our partners I’ve already commented on the presentation made to Fair Frome, but worth repeating that it would not have been possible without your generosity. We shall be doing something with them again later in the season.

I just want to say a few words about sponsors. Matchday and ball sponsors are a key part of our income and without them it makes managing a tight budget even more difficult. The ‘Ultras’ have been fantastic matchday sponsors, but we need more. It's only £200 and comes with free tickets and many more benefits. You will also now get a framed certificate as a permanent souvenir of your day. So, if you know anyone who wants to sponsor a game then in the first instance please contact Steve Hodges at commercial@frometownafc.co.uk - Steve is now leading on our match day corporate hospitality for sponsors and visiting officials. He is doing a brilliant job... thank you Steve!

Love for Louise Someone else who does a brilliant job and doesn’t get mentioned enough is Louise Coates. If you wondered how the club functions practically on a match day with kit, food and support then it is all down to Louise. AGM and supporter members The Board met last week and agreed that we shall hold an AGM in February 2022. It will probably be on a Monday, but all those entitled to attend will get due notice. Applications for Supporter Members is now closed, but those of you who have applied will be getting a certificate shortly. Thank you for those that have joined. It’s likely that we will do a public Q and A after the AGM, but details of that to follow nearer the time. 50/50 prize draw

So far in 11 months of running our 50:50 cash prize draw we've raised over £3,000 for the club and given away over £3,200 in prize money back to our supporters. But the numbers playing are starting to decline. We really hope that we can get your support in joining the 50:50 or even better helping more people become aware of the monthly prize draw! Join the 50:50 here...

Merchandise

We understand the current merchandise situation is a little complicated. But basically we have a big range that you can directly over the internet, which you can order in your size, style etc... and will be with you within 14 days of your order. However, there are some other items that are only in our club shop (including playing shirts). We are ordering in some more scarves which will make excellent Christmas presents. Hopefully they will be in stock soon. We know there is a real demand for replica shirts which we stock in the shop or can be ordered in if we don’t stock your size. The club shop hasn’t worked as effectively as it should and we are working through how best to do this on matchdays. So keep and eye out...

'Kitmas' We are onto our next community initiative where we will hopefully joining the national Kitmas Campaign. Where we will be asking if people can help to donate to support children in our local area who's parents won't be able to afford to buy their children Christmas presents. The aim of Kitmas is to help provide those children with a local football shirt in time for Christmas. We'll be talking more about this in the coming days...

Supporters Club

The Supporters Club, as always, are doing much to raise funds, including the ‘Three ‘n’ easy’, matchday raffle and Bingo nights. Please do support these initiatives and join the Supporters Club if you haven’t already. There are lots of benefits, including free coach travel to some away games. The next one will be Evesham, so if you are a member and want to go please give your name to John Turner at stadiumdirector@frometownafc.co.uk

If you watch one video today, make it this one...

That wraps it up from me, but look forward to seeing you all around the ground at our home games.

'Del'

Derek Graham
