Cribbs vs. Frome Town: Preview and Ticket Info

Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, looks ahead to another chance to go top when the Robins play a crucial fixture in Bristol.

It's Friday night football once more for the Robins as they make a first ever trip to The Lawns, home of surprise package Cribbs FC, for an intriguing third-versus-second encounter.

Frome followers will be more than familiar with the Bristol-based outfit who have visited Badgers Hill twice already this season in contests which couldn't have been more different.

The opening day goalless draw saw a well-drilled rearguard blunt a Robins attack clearly not at their best ,while the FA Trophy tussle back in October (also on a Friday night) caused Frome to defend doggedly for long periods, particularly the final fifteen minutes when they were down to ten men, but grit, determination and a spot of luck at times got them through 1-0.

Since that 0-0 in mid-August, Danny Greaves' side has found the net in every one of their subsequent 25 matches but they will be up against the meanest defence in the league who have yielded just 14 goals in as many games.

Promoted as Hellenic League champions last season, Cribbs have raised more than a few eyebrows in their debut campaign at Step Four, currently lying third with an identical record to the Robins, the two only separated by goal difference.

Riding the wave of six wins on the bounce, including a 2-1 triumph over table toppers Wimborne, they will provide the most thorough of examinations for a Frome side who, at least, will know what to expect.

With seven fixtures between now and the middle of January, the schedule does not get any less hectic and with just a single point separating the top three, whatever the result on Friday, there will be new leaders for a few hours at least.

Match Details For those who plan on travelling to the game, tickets can be purchased on the gate with adult entry priced at £9 and concession entry at £6, cash or card, according to the latest information provided.
