Following the match against Hendon here's the thoughts Manager Danny Greaves following a good performance and well deserved point on the board.
"The day as a whole was a very good one. The club made a great effort to make the opening day a great event, with lots happening throughout the day.
On the pitch I am happy to come away with a point in the end. I think it was what the boys deserved. We played some good stuff in patches and defended very well as a team for 99% of the game. What pleased me most was the response to going a goal behind with 20 minutes to go. We could have crumbled, but showed good spirit and character to go again and create a number of chances to get the late, but deserved equaliser. I also have to give credit to the ground staff, although, by no means perfect, I thought the pitch was in reasonable condition and played very well considering the weather we have had over the past 5-6 weeks, and the condition it was in only 2 weeks ago.
We have picked up a few knocks in the game. With Chris Allen coming off early with a horrendous dead leg which has swollen up badly, and led to him going to Bath hospital. Connor Roberts also took a knock in the first half, but struggled on until half time, and one or two others were carrying knocks. We will assess everyone over the weekend and pick a squad ready for another tough challenge on Tuesday against Tiverton."
