A convincing and solid performance saw Frome beat Street with goals from Kane Simpson and Connor Roberts.
Frome Town looked strong at the back and pushed street to resort to long balls for a large majority of the game and completing their second clean sheet in a row. The game was lit up by a first half performance by Kane Simpson who on 22 minutes burst forwards and rounded the goalkeeper before calmly finishing into the empty net. Connor Roberts scored the second on the rebound after a smart stop by the goalkeeper.
Manager Danny Greaves commented.
"I am extremely pleased with our performance first and foremost. The boys are beginning to carryout alot of what we have been working on through pre season. But the key to everything we try and do is workrate and togetherness, and this will take time as we are a very new group, but thought we saw signs of that last night.
Street are a very good side, had an unbelievable unbeaten run last season, winning the Western League while only losing 3 games all season, so it was a good test and I am pleased to come away with a win, another clean sheet, and more importantly a positive performance in what was our fans first opportunity to see us at home.
.We now go into the last game of pre season away to Larkhall on Friday night looking to continue to build momentum into the opening game if the season next week.
