Frome Town came into this fixture, with it being their first time playing at home in 2025 due two games previously being called off courtesy of frozen pitch.
After a draw at high flying Totton, there was clear motivation in the side this afternoon.
It was a close start at Badgers Hill, with a few half-hearted chances landing either way, but nothing to challenge either defence too much.
The first shot on target went to the visitors in the 16th minute, but it was a comfortable save by Kyle Philips.
An early call for a sending off illumined the home crowd as Joe Budd was taken out recklessly by the Gloucester defender but no card was given.
The clock ticked to 30 and Gloucester continued to show their class with a through ball from Kevin Dawson, which gave Joe Hanks a golden opportunity, but were once again held at bay with Philips blocking the strike.
It took 33 minutes for the home side to have their first chance of the game, coming from Albie Hopkins, he was given a pass from Rex Mannings who danced his way through the Gloucester defence, before Albie took aim, but his effort was just shy of the top right-hand corner.
Approaching half time, Frome had kept Gloucester at bay which meant it was all to play for in the second half.
The second half started, and Frome began on the front foot when Hutson given a great chance inside the box, but was taken down by a Gloucester defender, but no penalty was given by the referee.
The first yellow card was given to the Gloucester boss, as he kicked the ball whilst play was on and, by law, should have been given a red!
Kyle Phillips was called into action once again with another tremendous save to stop Hanks, breaking the deadlock with a header.
Frome gained momentum and pilled on the pressure with a few chances from new signing Elliot Dugan, but nothing to harm the keeper though.
Another chance fell the way of the Robins, after a nicely flicked header by Curtis Hutson found Albie Hopkins, the winger had some room to run into but chose to cross, however no one was quick enough for the powerful ball in.
With time running out, it was clear that the promotion fighting visitors were getting frustrated as they couldn’t get what they wanted at Badgers Hill
The full-time whistle blown by the referee, the points were shared in Somerset, with the home side glad to have come away with a point.
