Frome Town vs FC Bristol: Match Preview

Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, gives us his insight ahead of a midweek home tie.

The pre-season build-up continues at Badgers Hill on Tuesday evening as Frome Town welcome Hellenic League newcomers FC Bristol.

Kris Miller, 233 appearances and 14 goals for The Robins.

Against opponents never previously faced, Danny Greaves will be hoping for a bigger squad to select from with the return of some of those who were unavailable for the recent trip to Bridgwater.

Formed as recently as 2008 as Lebeq United, FC Bristol progressed through the Bristol & Suburban and Gloucester County Leagues, earning promotion to Western League Division One where, in the past couple of seasons, their entertaining brand of football has seen them average at least two goals per game at both ends of the park.

They changed their name to the current FC Bristol as recently as last July and include former Robin Kris Miller in their management team.

After four years in the Western League and a decent finish of eighth last term, they find themselves in new company for the new campaign with a lateral move to Division One of the Hellenic League.
