We are excited to announce the signing of midfielder Jayden Nielsen.
Jayden will join the Robins on a permanent basis from Bristol Manor Farm as the Badgers Hill club prepare for life in the Southern League Premier Division. The former Bristol City apprentice joined Brislington of the Western League following his release from Ashton Gate. In December 2020, his performances there led to a move to Bristol Manor Farm on a dual-registration basis.
His form during the remainder of that season caught the eye and led to a trial with National League South side Bath City in the summer of 2021. He returned to Manor Farm following the conclusion of his trial period, quickly becoming a consistent and exciting performer at Southern League level. He went on to be named Supporters’ Player of the Season and Player’s Player of the Season in 22-23.
Jayden had his best season yet for the Portwaymen in 23-24, scoring 15 goals in all competitions alongside a number of assists, and was named on the bench in the Southern League Division One South's Team of the Season. He provided the pass for Ben Bament's goal that saw Manor Farm take the lead briefly in the recent play-off final as well another the previous weekend when the league tie between the sides ended 3-3.
Jayden's rise in stature has meant plenty of interest from other clubs this summer, but we are delighted that he has opted to play his football and continue his progression in BA11.
Danny Greaves said of his latest bit of business: "I am absolutely thrilled to have secured Jayden for the upcoming season. We were very close last summer, but he chose to stay at Manor Farm. Ultimately, it worked out well for him on a personal level, going on to have his best season yet in terms of goals and assists. We continued to monitor him throughout last season, watching on many occasions and on each occasion he was the best player on the pitch. He is adaptable and fit, able to play in numerous positions, a powerful runner with the ball and possesses a great left foot. I am confident our fans will enjoy watching him, and I'm excited to work with him."
The attacking midfielder shared his first thoughts on a move to Badgers Hill: "So happy to sign for Frome Town! I can't wait to get into preseason, meet all the lads and get ready for a successful season!"
Welcome to BA11 and best of luck, Jayden!
