We are delighted to announce that Midfielder Matt Smith has committed to the Robins for the upcoming 21/22 season.
Smith, 31, is entering his seventh season with the club and brings with him a huge amount of experience and quality. The former Bristol Rovers Academy player, Smithy joined the club back in 2011 from Westbury, where he spent 4 years with the Robins before four seasons at Chippenham Town in the National League. Matt rejoined the club in 2019 racking up over 40 appearances and 4 goals in the two broken seasons. Matt continues to be a fans favourite, who's on the ball ability and work rate is lauded in many quarters of the ground.
Matt commented “I've always enjoyed being (at Frome), the people are great there. So to be back at the club wasn't a difficult decision."

Manager Danny Greaves commented: "The re-signing of Matt is another huge boast for the club. Smithy was superb in his first season back with the club. Last season was a nightmare for us all, but more so for Matt, with an injury which took longer to heal and missing games due to isolation rules.
Hopefully with a bit more normality about this upcoming season, and Matt's circumstances more settled, we will again see more of those performances which saw Matt play most of his football at Conference South level. He is a real dynamic, athletic midfield player, with a great range of passing, who is right up there with anyone in the league in his position."
