We are delighted to confirm the return of striker Kane Simpson.
Kane first joined Frome in 2018, impressing in his debut season before leaving for short stints at Evesham and Swindon Supermarine. After rejoining in 2019, the striker went on to feature regularly up front for the Robins, making 78 appearances and scoring 31 goals across three seasons, two of which were curtailed by the pandemic. After moving to Tiverton in the summer of 2022, he also scored a cheeky winner at Badgers Hill against Frome last season in FA Cup First Qualifying Round defeat.

On his return to Badgers Hill, Kane said, "I'm so pleased to be back at the club. After coming so close to promotion in my last season, I feel I have some unfinished business at Frome. When I made the decision to leave 12 months ago, it was purely for footballing reasons and the opportunity to step up a level with Tiverton. Things didn't quite go to plan and I ended the season at Corsham, helping them during their Vase run which ended in a semi-final defeat. Now feels like the right time for me to step back up and try to help Frome challenge this season. I would like to thank Corsham for the opportunity last season and wish them all the best."
Danny Greaves added, "I am delighted to have been able to bring Kane back to the club. We tried when he first left Tiverton, but the lure of a potential trip to Wembley with Corsham was too good an opportunity at that time. We tried again in the summer, but again it wasn't quite right as he felt a level of loyalty to Corsham. However, now he and we feel it's the right time to get it done. With Joe O'Loughlin departing the club, it has created some space in the budget and we felt we did not need a like-for-like replacement and we focused our attentions in the forward area. It's no secret we missed a lot of Kane's attributes last season and, despite attempts to replace them, we weren't able to adequately. We have made some very good additions in the forward area of the pitch, but this signing further strengthens the offensive part of our game. I am sure he will complement the great attacking options already at the club and will be an important signing."
