The club are delighted to have agreed a 2 year contract with forward James Ollis for this season and next.
Ollis has been in fine form this season with 4 goals this season. Opening the scoring in our recent victory of Oxford City in the FA CUP. Danny Greaves commented, "The whole Board and Management are delighted James has agreed to commit to the club. I must first of all give credit to my previous Assistant James Moon, who first alerted me to James towards the end of our first COVID curtailed season. My current Assistant, Neil Simons, joined me at the start of the following season and again recommended James due to working together at Mangotsfield previously and played an important part in bringing him in to the club.
Last season was a struggle for everyone, but probably more so for James who was trying to adjust to a new position, a new club, new teammates. We certainly didn't see the best of him, but knew we had a player on our hands. However, when we returned to training following the easing of restrictions, James came back with a new lease of life and carried that into pre season, and now into competitive games.
The contract offer is something we have discussed since the summer, and has been on the table for a few weeks, but now is the right time from both sides. At his age, he is only going to improve, and we will benefit from that as a club, and hopefully we can achieve our joint ambitions together over the next couple of seasons."
