REACTION: Greaves is delighted with The RobIns' Character

Manager Danny Greaves is delighted with the 'character' of his squad, as they responded to a difficult couple of weeks with a 2-0 victory over Taunton Town.

Early goals from Troy Simpson and Tom Mehew gave The Robins a vital win at Badgers Hill, only the second time they've picked up all three points at home in 2019.

Greaves said: "They say a week is a long time in football, and that has certainly been the case for us. From the low of last weekends defeat to Staines to the high of yesterday's win against promotion hopefuls Taunton with ten men for 45 minutes.

"This was a similar performance to our last home games against Weymouth, with the effort and commitment from all involved, discipline in our shape on and off the ball, but yesterday we were clinical and took those early chances.

"If we had taken those early chances in the Weymouth game, and certainly last weekends game, the picture could well be different.

"I have to say, the character to bounce back from last weekend was brilliant. The experienced boys stood up, and the young boys who came in showed huge potential and no fear. Training this week was lively and everyone was focused to try and right some of the wrongs from recent weeks.

"While our task looks a difficult one, we will be aiming to replicate yesterday's effort, discipline and performance levels for the remaining eight games and see where that takes us.

"On behalf of the players and management I would like to thank the fans for their support. With our league position it would have been easy to stay at home, but you came out to support the boys and hopefully got a performance you were all proud of."
