Goals from Luke Johnson and Rex Mannings helped extend The Robins unbeaten pre-season run to five games as they drew 2-2 with Newquay AFC in Cornwall this afternoon.

With 7 of the squad away or unavailable, Warren Maidment, Sam Teale and Alex Monks started along with Jordan Yeo.

Danny Greaves' squad played some attractive football in the first half without being able to beat the home ‘keeper and likewise Newquay spurned the chances they created and the first period ended goalless.

The hosts made an early breakthrough in the second half when Frome failed to clear their lines and a neat interchange saw them open the scoring.

Just a minute or two later the Frome goalkeeper was caught in possession on the edge of the area and Newquay took a 2-0 lead.

The game deteriorated a bit as some heavy tackles came in from both sides before Luke Johnson pulled one back. Rex Mannings got an equaliser with only a few minutes remaining.
