We are pleased to announce the signing of Rex Mannings from Chippenham Town on a one-month loan.
The 24-year-old midfielder who progressed through the Bristol City and Oxford United academies returns to Badgers Hill where, between 2018 and 2022, he became a firm favourite among the fans. A creative left-footed player, Rex has since spent seasons at Bath City and Weston-super Mare before sealing a move to the Bluebirds over the summer.
Danny Greaves explained his decision to bring back the midfielder, "I am delighted to welcome Rex back to the club on a short term loan deal, and our thanks go to Gary Horgan and Chippenham for allowing this to happen. Hopefully the arrangements will benefit all parties."
"Over the course of the season so far we haven't scored enough goals, and, with Jon Davies looking like he will be out for a further lengthy period and awaiting scan results, we felt we were short in that department. We have also agreed that Evra Yao will go out to get further minutes under his belt at Larkhall."
"Rex had a fantastic period with us previously, eventually leading to his move to Bath in the National League, he then gained further experience at that level with Weston and now Chippenham. He has proven he can perform on that stage, so hopefully we can now benefit from all of that experience, for however long he is with the club."
Rex spoke to the Dodge the Question podcast about his loan, "Frome has always had an appeal to me and I hold the club very close to my heart. My current club Chippenham have a large squad, I was finding it hard to get regular game time and needed to do what is best for me!"
