Frome Town FC are pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Warren Maidment to join the club this summer.
The defender will sign for The Robins when players can be registered in July, the first move of his career.
The 21-year-old has spent his entire career to date with Melksham Town, after rising through the youth set-up at The Yellows.
Manager Danny Greaves is delighted that he was able capture the signing of the promising defender.
He said: "I'm really pleased to have secured the signing of Warren Maidment as he is one of the best young central defenders in the area.
"Warren is at a great age, and to captain Melksham Town at such a young age shows the character of the lad.
"He is a player who has not only performed well at this level already but has huge potential to push on in the game so we are pleased he bought into our vision and has agreed to come to Frome."
Maidment is excited by the prospect of joining the club and cited meeting Greaves as a key factor in his move to Badgers Hill.
He said: "After meeting Danny and hearing some of the exciting plans for the future, but also the desire and hunger to challenge at the top end of the table and achieve promotion back to the Premier Division as soon as possible, it was an easy decision to make.
"I have been at Melksham since I was 4 years old so owe so many people there a massive thank you. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, but the time felt right for a fresh and exciting challenge."
