Frome Town FC are pleased to announce return of former defender Mark Cooper to the club this summer.
The 27-year-old made 140 appearances for The Robins in his first spell at Badgers Hill, before moving to Weymouth in the summer of 2015.
Cooper is versatile across the back four, he spent last season with league rivals Melksham Town.
Danny Greaves is happy to have added the experience of Cooper to his squad ahead of the upcoming season.
He said: "Mark is another player with a great affinity with the club having already played over 100 games for Frome previously, which I felt was important to that bring that connection & passion for the club back.
"He knows what this club is about and showed a great desire to return. He is another lad who is extremely fit and looks after himself away from the club which again is massively important, and we now have a number of those players in the squad which will set the example to the others.
"On top of this, Mark is an extremely experienced player and must have played 400-500 non-league games with Weymouth, Chippenham, Melksham and Frome, and that experience will be invaluable. He can play anywhere across the back four/five which will be important at this level with so many games, injuries and unavailability."
Cooper is happy to come back to a club he has a great connection with and cannot wait to be a part of what is being built at Badgers Hill.
He said: "It’s a club I enjoyed playing for when I was younger and after speaking to Danny and James and hearing their plans for the season it made my decision easy. Added to that the squad, they are already building will hopefully make exciting times ahead for Frome".
