Frome Town slumped to a fifth consecutive 1-0 defeat as they were edged out by fellow strugglers Swindon Supermarine, leaving their survival hopes hanging by a thread.
It’s now eight and a half hours since the Robins last found the back of the net and with other results not going our way, the task of staying up is near impossible.

Despite a superb individual performance from goalkeeper Kyle Phillips, who pulled off a string of saves including a first half penalty stop, Danny Greaves men couldn’t find a breakthrough, once again ruing missed chances.
After an even first 20 minutes, the hosts began to take control. Warren Maidment was forced into a crucial last ditch tackle to deny a clear opportunity, but from the resulting corner disaster struck. Albie Hopkins misjudged his initial clearance and in attempting to recover caught the opposition player, conceding a penalty.
Thankfully Phillips was equal to it, making a sharp dive to his right to produce a fine save and keep the score level.
Frome then created a few chances of their own before the break, including a strike from Tom Richards in the 36th minute that clipped the top of the bar, and an effort from Albie Hopkins in the 42nd minute, that was well pushed away by Dan Brabham after Hopkins cut in on his right foot and fired towards the near post.
The second half followed a familiar pattern, Frome created openings but lacked quality in front of goal, Ethan Vaughan had a free-kick just outside the box but his tame effort rolled straight into the keepers hands.
Phillips remained alert at the other end ten minutes later to deny Fernandes from distance, where he pushed a tricky shot away from danger.
Then in the 71st minute, substitute Callum Gould combined with Joe O’Loughlin down the left, but the latter fired another simple shot straight down the throat of the keeper.
A big chance then came in the 83rd minute when Vaughan cut back for Alex Monks, only for the midfielder to blaze his effort over.
Moments later Frome were punished. A scrappy passage of play ended with Harry Williams bundling the ball home to give Swindon the lead.
Even though a point wouldn’t have done Frome many favours, they nearly snatched one at the end. Matt Wood’s header looked destined for the far corner until Brabham pulled out a fantastic finger tip stop onto the post, with the follow up somehow not poked home.
Now five points from safety, it’s must win in all three of our remaining games, starting with Dorchester next Friday.
