Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, sizes up a visit to Wiltshire against a relegation rival.
Considering the position they find themselves in, Frome Town’s away record in 2025 is a remarkable one.
It’s played NINE, won FOUR, drawn FOUR and lost just the ONE and they will be looking to extend this fine run at the Webbswood Stadium home of fellow strugglers Swindon Supermarine on Saturday.
For the Marine, 2025 has been a dismal year so far. As recently as mid-January, they were flying high in EIGHTH place but in a dozen or so games since, they’ve only beaten Marlow and last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Havant & Waterlooville leaves them just a point above the drop zone.

Like Frome, they’ve lost their last three league encounters by a single goal, picking up just the ONE point out of a possible EIGHTEEN since early March so confidence is low for both sides meaning this crucial fixture presents a golden opportunity for one or the other to kick-start a late bid for Premier Division survival.
Danny Greaves charges will almost certainly be glad they’re away for this crucial clash following that harrowing hat-trick of 1-0 home losses and their past record on this ground is encouraging, a 100% success rate in league encounters to go with a penalty shoot-out win in the Covid-curtailed Challenge Cup of 2019-20.
In the reverse fixture at Badgers Hill just before Christmas, a trio of quality strikes without reply from Messrs Monks, Ferris and Hopkins brought about a rare and welcome comprehensive home win which lifted the Robins off the foot of the table.
How we all yearn for a repeat performance to ensure the fight for survival goes on for another week at least.

TEN continuous seasons at one club is a special achievement worth celebrating and the event deserves to be well attended.
Tealey has given us fans outstanding service and some special moments over the years. Maybe, just maybe, there could be one or two more before the season’s over.

Thank you Juppy as always.
Of the remaining four games , this one is possibly seen as the best opportunity of a 'three pointer' - so desperately required in our last few hours of premiership existence.
As the Jupster has stated, Swindon are in dire straights - almost as bad as us!
However they can score goals, 56 thus far compared to the Robins meagre offering of just 34 - one more than 'Tivvy'. It should be noted that Marine have had a very difficult fixture list of late playing several top sides or sides in form. They'll see this fixture as a very welcome opportunity.
Football league pages are now predicting a final league total for the Robins…
