Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, analyses the importance of this weekend's fixture in Hampshire.
With a cup final appearance now in the bag, the Robins return to the business of Premier Division survival with what could be a pivotal contest at the Winklebury Football Complex, home of Basingstoke Town.
Following last weekend’s results, the foot of the table looks tighter than ever as Danny Greaves’ charges find themselves just a couple of points from the safety spot of eighteenth, the best position they’ve been for many a long month.

That’s down to a run of just THREE defeats in their last TWENTY outings and they will be looking to extend that against a Basingstoke side who, going into November, occupied a play-off spot but now hover just six points above the drop-zone in sixteenth.
When they visited Badgers Hill back in October, they were the only remaining unbeaten side in the league and a second-half equaliser from Alex Monks earned the Scarlet Runners a creditable 1-1 draw but since then, however, their form has nosedived.
They did thump Tiverton 5-0 at Ladysmead just over a fortnight ago, but that’s their only win in their last ten and, on national Non-League Day, their need for points will be just as great as Frome’s.

In 2025, the Robins have conceded just FIVE goals in EIGHT fixtures on the road and never more than one in any game, losing just the once at Wimborne. If they can add to this formidable and disciplined away record, they’ve every chance of avoiding a swift return to Step Four.

Such a fantastic article! I learned something new and realized how this topic could positively impact certain qualities. We are working on gemini compatibility and would love to get your advice. Even a small tip from you would be highly appreciated!
I can totally relate to your experience as I also went through something similar and found it resonating really well with me. I just thought to share my work; I am working on aquarius compatibility with libra, and being your constant blog reader, I want some suggestions and information from you if you have on this subject. I request you to visit our website and share some feedback. Till then, I will wait for your new blog.
A sentimental and pet portraits artistic masterpiece that captures every loving glance, wag, and purr in stunning detail.
Correction - four out of eight are in the top ten. ( not five) In error, I omitted Chertsey ( 17th) at home, however, be aware, Chertsey have the 5th best away form in the division, so even that one is not straight forward at all.
Nice one Juppy.
We were just a coup[le of points from safety and then Wimborne beat us and we were suddenly six points adrift again!
As the table stands at present, we have not beaten any side in the top ten and we have five of our last eight games against sides in those heady positions.
The other 3 games are against sides in 14th, 15th & 16th but they’re all away fixtures and quite trappy.
So, there’s an awful lot of work and heart flutters yet to come. I think a point at Basingstoke is essential.
