We are delighted to announce the signing of defender Jago Thompson Roberts. Jago featured in the win over Slimbridge, with an assured performance at right back.
Jago Thompson Roberts joins us from Thornbury, following a promising youth career at Southampton Academy and youth scholarship at Forest Green..
Manager Danny Greaves stated, "I'm delighted to welcome Jago to Frome. He has a good pedigree having come up through the Southampton academy, before carrying out a youth scholarship at Forest Green Rovers. Unfortunately for him a serious injury in his second year resulted in him not being offered a professional contract. He has worked hard to get back to full fitness and was training with Weston while getting some minutes for Thornbury in the Hellenic league over the early months of the season. He has slotted into the group well and showed positive signs in a few training sessions. He is a very level headed and mature young man, with bags of ability and a desire to improve. Living locally in Beckington is just an added bonus. I look forward to seeing him build on his solid debut.
Jago commented: I’m delighted to be here. The club has a really good fan base and a great group of players. I will give everything on the pitch and hope I can contribute to the team.
