The FTW Countdown to 25 December and
our next match against Ridgeway on the 10 December
A frustrating few weeks…….
It’s fair to say that FTW have had a frustrating few weeks since our 3-2 win over Shaftsbury on the 12 November. A downward change in weather over the past weeks have led to poor pitch conditions and Badgers Hill went from waterlogged & boggy to frozen solid, resulting in last two matches being postponed. This weekend the team were due to play Pen Mill however this match has been cancelled since Pen Mill were sadly
forced to withdraw from the league.
There’s still been a lot going on however, with the team continuing to train hard and their form has been going from strength to strength – we just need to get a game in as we are raring to go!
Off the pitch, last Monday saw our Manager Ben Bolland, and goalkeeper Sophie Billet land in the Robin’s Nest to talk about the season so far and what lays ahead, with hosts Patrick Moss and Ryan Atkins. You can hear their show at: www.mixcloud.com/FromeFM/23-robins-nest-201123
Countdown to December 25 (Don’t mention the C word, its still November!)
As is now tradition at FTW, from Friday 1 December we will be running our annual countdown to 25 December. In summary we will be posting a daily FTW feature post showing the team – on and off the pitch!
Meanwhile, there continues to be lots to do and the team are renewing their request for help.
Request for help - please and thank you
FTW are entirely run by a very small (and friendly!) group of willing volunteers. They do everything for the team from organizing and running matches, to social media and fundraising – even helping with the coaching of the squad. We are looking for people with a range of skills and free time that would be able to share some of the load, from Coaches & to people to run the line (particularly for away matches) to supporting the organisation of fundraising activities.
The team are also looking for more support with social media on and around match days. So if you fancy helping us to keep the profile of the team going, why not get in touch?
On the coaching side, we are looking to expand our coaching support to our growing squad, so if you are a Level 1 coach (or higher!), or are interested in getting into coaching and would be interested in joining the team, please drop us a line.
